Club History

Wembley Downs Soccer Club was founded in Western Australia in 1979, initially playing at the Wembley Downs Primary School fields before settling into Butler reserve. The Club has over 900 members and includes several senior teams. Namely, Semi-Pro Men and Women, Amateurs, Masters and Socials ranging in age from 17 to 65. The club’s youth program, overseen by our Technical Director, ranges from u5-u18 with clusters, miniroos, Junior Community and Junior Development teams on offer. The club also has an internally run Academy, established in 2025, which offers those selected a potential pathway into higher performance environments.

WDSC gained entry into the Men’s State League 2 after winning the Amateur Premier league comfortably in 2024. The First team had won the Amateur Premier League only a couple of years prior in 2017, after being promoted to it in 2014, but the first time of being offered they decided to stay an Amateur club and rejected promotion. Now the club aims for promotion into State League 1 while at the same time strengthening its Junior Program.

The WDSC First Team Women compete in Central Division 2 which is one below Division one, which is considered State league women. They won the Women’s League Cup in 2024 and narrowly missed promotion in 2025 finishing in second place. To maintain a strong Women’s program the club must continue to develop the Girls program as it continues to do.

The Club is a not for profit organization club  and is run by a committee of volunteers. The Club is affiliated with FIFA and its State Representative body Football West.

Our Commitment to Community

Our philosophy is to encourage and grow the love ❤️ of football amongst children from the earliest age and create a strong community club. Our strong membership base allows us to cater for recreational football at both junior and senior level and also provides pathways to the pinnacle of the game in West Australia at a semi-professional senior level. WDSC is a hub for the community and we commit to be the best organization we can be and set the greatest example to all those who come across us.
